The NLAS holds 2 exhibitions each
year. The main exhibition of the year,
our 'prestige' event, involves the
selection of exhibits by a team of
independent people from the local
art scene. They are able to reject
any entry which they consider is
not of a sufficiently high standard
and they also award trophies in
each of our 8 categories. (There
is a 9th trophy, awarded to the
painting which receives the most
votes from the visiting public)

In 2011 the traditional style
trophies were replaced with
modern, specially commissioned
glass ones, as the old ones were,
after more than 30 years'service,
showing their age.

The second exhibition is usually
a slightly smaller event and no
selection process is involved.
